Hello! I’m so happy you’re here!

I am Alisha or, Wee, if you prefer and this blog is my baby. I’m a fairly silly person, but am completely serious about making delicious recipes.

These two are also my babies.

I’m 28 and by profession, a magazine editor. I love everything to do with writing, editing, reading, publishing and of course, blogging. I love that this blog lets me do exactly what I love to do…cooking and writing all in one.

I’m still waiting for a high-paying profession that lets me read books for a living but so far, it hasn’t happened.

I’m just your typical, busy young professional. I spend my days working in an office, my nights creating recipes and blogging, and in my free time I’m planning a beach wedding with this nice young man.

Senor is practically as silly as I am, and also quite serious about food endeavors. And yes, I do call him Senor, all the time. Far more often than his real name, which is Jake.

I’ve always loved cooking and feeding people and I’m so glad to have an avenue to share my creations with you all.

All of the recipes and photos on this blog are mine,  unless otherwise noted.

Besides a high school cooking class and a high school photography class 12 years ago, I have absolutely no formal training in cooking, photography, or web design. I’m doing my best to improve on all of these. Bear with me as I try my hand at cascading style sheets!

When I’m not cooking, blogging or editing, I spend my time reading books, playing softball, running (although I hate it), being outside and spending as much time as possible at beaches, lakes, pools, etc. If you have any fabulous book recommendations, let me know! I have an ever-growing list of must-reads.

      Haha! Possibly because I took a lengthy hiatus this winter?? I’m just getting back to cooking again, it’s so nice. Thank you! The wedding was fab. Congrats to you too…Riley is the cutest little boy. I may stalk your FB pictures of him. 😀

      Alisha is one of those names that morphs into so many nicknames….they’re endless. No Bethany for a sister, although I do have two sisters!

    Just stumbled onto your website searching for recipes. Thinking of making your “Roast Chicken with Apples and Zucchini” for the 12-16 peeps I cook for every other Fri. It’ll become “Roast (boneless/skinless) Chicken Thighs w/ Zucchini ‘n Apples” when I get done with it. Got tonnes of zucchini in the garden and picky eaters who don’t wanna deal with bones, because they’re “vegetarians”. They tell themselves chicken is a “fast plant”. If you’re like me, picky eaters will be the death of us!!

    Congrats on your & Señor’s wedding. From what I’ve read, he’s a catch and double-lucky to have caught you. My guy & I been together 38 years, and even tho it’s legal again in CA; we’re not sure we’re ready for marriage. But if we were, a beach wedding is DEFINITELY the way to go. And our favorite Pacific Coast beach has the least restrictive dress code. Neither of us would have to wear a tux. 😉

    Speaking of different climates, your mom’s garden includes fragiapani/plumeria in Minnesota?!? She must have a greenhouse for them in winter. If so, has she tried growing gingers? Mmm, the scents of Hawaii.
